My philosophy professor asked me, “How can you tell if someone is good or evil?”

joshymoony:

To which I replied, “By the color of his lightsaber yo.”

By the color of Mana he uses.

Anonymous asked: Just cause more than cursing falls under unwholesome, doesn't mean you can excuse it all. "But that is not going against cussing, cussing merely fits under that category." If cursing is unwholesome and the bible says to speak no unwholesome thing, then it is wrong. Also, there's an awful lot of personal interpretation with saying what is equivalent to what was spoken of at the time things were written in the Bible so it's not our call to say. Both dung and garbage are not the same as curse words

Cursing can be unwholesome. And the majority of the time it is. But it is possible that it can be wholesome. Granted even then it is usually unneeded, it is possible.
Lol so you just completely ignored the part where she explained how in the context it was a cuss, but go ahead and ignore it if you wish.

Anonymous asked: i am not looking at you poorly, nor am I judging you I am just being honest. haha

I wasn’t saying you were haha I meant the people that do judge me. I actually find you to be respectful haha.

Anonymous asked: I came off as ignorant when I did try and argue with people, it is good to read the Bible and learn all that you can but God will be the one to show you how to interpret things.I find now that I am much more loving and open minded to others, more people are willing to listen and try out going to church with me than ever before :) back when I argued over every little thing I was looked at poorly. God Bless

I am not trying to get people to come to church with me by the posts I make on here, I am trying to show people the truths of the bible.

Look at me poorly if you wish, but that is judgement.

voiceinthewind asked: Romans 6:1-2 What the NIV translates as “By no means!” is the Greek “Me genoito” which is the strongest Greek idiom to indicate repudiation (refusal to accept and implies a casting off or disowning as untrue, unauthorized, or unworthy of acceptance) and even conveys the idea of outraged indignation. In other words, it was equivalent to today’s “hell no!”

voiceinthewind asked: Phil 3:8 "garbage" in the original greek is skybalon meaning dung or excrement. It was a vulgar word but Paul used it to get his point across. It has been found in ancient graffiti and in manuscripts linking it as pure profanity! Paul purposefully uses a vulgar and offensive term in his letter in order to grab the attention of his readers and get into their faces. But this isn’t the only place he’s been known to get up into people’s faces. He does it in Romans as well.

If I recall correctly there is a part where God actually says He is going to smear ‘dung’ in the face of people. I want to say it is in Duet.

Anonymous asked: Unwholesome: Not characterized by or conducive to health or moral well-being. It is not necessarily tearing someone down if it is unwholesome. It only means it is helpful to moral well-being.

But that is not going against cussing, cussing merely fits under that category. And not all of the time either.
Not to mention you just eliminated roughly half of the English language.

Anonymous asked: There's no place in the Bible that says you can use unwholesome things if they act neutrally to those around you.

My point is that is it not unwholesome or condemned unless it is tearing someone down.

Anonymous asked: If you would stop trying to make me continuously prove what I did and prove what you're saying then you would have a case. You can do things that are positive with your words, but I'm talking about cursing in particular and with swearing, it is not neutral nor positive.

You did not prove anything. You offered evidence and I showed you why that evidence simply is not enough. You have no case. You have not seen it be neutral? Have you ever been around someone who used a cuss as an exaggeration? Because that is not tearing someone down, and is in fact neutral. Unless someone around them is offended, which I already have been over.

Anonymous asked: "Why should I have to prove it?" Because if you can't then it is invalid. You assume that I am already wrong, but I have proved it by taking it straight to scripture and you haven't done that. Also, I did prove it. I said If you can prove that it is not a sin, then please show me. It is unwholesome talk and the bible says black and white that "no unwholesome talk should not come out of your mouth." Prove that is is not unwholesome talk. I already proved my point.

You assume that I am already wrong. And no you have not proved it. If this was a court case you would have had a missing body and the defendant would simply have no alibi. The trial would be thrown out.
I have pointed out several times how it the references to scripture about cussing are about tearing people down with your words. Seriously, read it. You will notice that. If you are not tearing doing something bad with your words you can either be doing good things with your words, or neutral things with your words. There is a gray area. Not everything is black and white.
